On Monday’s CBS "Early Show," co-host Harry Smith interviewed New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg. The liberal mayor has followed in the footsteps of Al Gore and implored the government to take action to address an impending environmental crisis, saying "We need to do something now." To match Bloomberg’s alarmist rhetoric, Smith added "Manhattan will be underwater by 2050."
Is the comment really that "alarmist"? After all Manhattan is an island in the estuary of a major river, wouldn't
some major shoreline changes take place by 2050 which is four hundred years after the original settlement of the island by Westerners?
Why is it that the self described Environmentalists, the people who are supposed to be
so in tune with nature, that insist nature stand absolutely still
and a safe distance from their property?
